DesertGiantSky

Indifferent to heat, cold, and poor soils (even shallow ones!), Giant Sky is supremely drought-tolerant once roots establish in the soil.

Plant in well-enriched soil the first year, FEED + WATER , and generally treat it like any other garden plant.
After that it is pretty indestructible for years to come!!!

Desert Giant Blue Sky
One of the best groundcovers for quick coverage and bluey pink tones, spreads 80cm in a single season, and in warm climates is evergreen, while in cooler ones it turns rich red/orange for autumn! You can't beat this bold sunlover for scrambling across hot, dry, poor soils.

Desert Giant Sky is ideal for a variety of settings as a spectacular carpet for the spring bulb garden (bulbs grow THROUGH the sedum carpet), , a cover-up for slopes, walls and other trouble spots in the dry garden, and even as a plain old border plant, carpeting its path blue. The evergreen needle-like foliage is very eye-catching. Yellow blooms appear 50cm high in summer, dancing in the breeze. Aerial roots constantly search for a chance to take hold underneath as the plant creeps along - it looks after itself!!!

Combines well with a wide range of other sun-lovers. Use it to carpet the ground among your Purple Coneflowers, Gaillardias, and Gauras, as well as to spill over the front of the border where Coreopsis and Shasta Daisies color the garden from summer through fall with their bright blooms!

Space these plants about 60cm apart for a solid carpet of blue, interplant with other sedums for best effect.

Uses: This is an excellent plant for rock gardens, at the front of a border, around stepping stones, or as a groundcover.
Pests and Diseases:
Few when grown correctly - remember the pests or diseases will probably come from a different plant - sedums are usually very clean. Tidy up leaves and debris which settle on the sedums in autumn.
